I was wondering if next week you could expand on the importance of Egypt to British trade with India? I've always been confused: if the British didn't have a naval presence in the Mediterranean at the time, why was Egypt such a vital connection to India? And was the French objective ultimately making Egypt a colony? An invasion of India? Where were the Ottomans in all this? British allies?
