One of the things that strikes me listening to this series is how very little I knew about the Russian Revolution. I am also struck by how little concern there was about how to make things better for ordinary Russians. They were all concerned about the correct interpretation of Marxist scripture as it were.

Also, when does Kerensky make his entrance?

Man, what a shallow takeaway from the history!! Surprising how little one can learn even from such an excellent telling. Of course the revolutionaries cared for ordinary Russians (and ordinary people everywhere)! They dedicated their lives to change the society around them for the better; most of them were born into privilege and they chose lives of hardship and constant risk of arrest and even death.

The conflicts within the revolutionary groups would of course arise out of the ideological differences between them which would seem irrelevant to the outsider. Apparently small differences can seem like they matter a lot when you've dedicated your life to something, and you really believe your way is better, but someone else wants to sway the public to do it the wrong way - which may doom your whole life's thankless work.

Love the show. If there is just one thing that I could ask - would it be possible to have some quick links on the menu bar to the previous series? Like a link to each group? I am listening now to the lectures on South America and this often involves lots of clicks to get to the right page. Thanks!

Who if any of the revolutionaries cared about the fate of Russian peasants and workers is debatable. Exhibit one - Dostoevsky’s Demons.

I can provide my offline folders of downloads, which are separated and named by series/revolution.It'll be out of date in no time (Russian Revolution isn't finished after all), and be on a slow download service. It'll also be a pain to get working on any system that doesn't sort/play by Title (Ascending). But it should work. You can also download episodes individually by right clicking the link and then left clicking "Save Audio As".

Here's my private old upload.Just be fairwarned, it's 10GB.
